This calculator uses both the Haigis and SRK-T formula with a variety of "fudge factors" that have been described in the literature over the past few years. These "fudge factors" are necessary because the post-refractive surgery cornea does not have the same relationship between anterior and posterior corneal surface that a normal cornea does. The following methods are employed:

• Historical Method Refract Corneal Surg. 1989;5:203

Disclaimer: This calculator is offered as a service to the Ophthalmologic community for EDUCATIONAL and RESEARCH purposes only. This calculator is not related in any way to any of the authors listed above and has not been reviewed by them for accuracy. The names for the various methods are just to keep them straight in my head -- other people may refer to them by other names, so if you want to know what they are, please see the journals listed above. The IOL formulas "SRK-T" and "Haigis" were implemented using the published formula and have not been reviewed nor endorsed by Drs. "S", "R", "K", or Haigis.
